Hike on 12/09/16 near the bridge under which have been a collection of trolls. Jessica is confused about getting down. She sees me down here but preventing her from getting down is a fence; so I ran back up to show her the proper way to get down.
Once down she ran over to look at where she had been, as though to evaluate whether she could have jumped down or not.
On another day we might go east from this point -- if we don't mind braving the trolls and I don't think we do.
But here we are going West. We've just gone under the bridge and you can see one of the troll tents. Up above there is road construction which might be interfering with the trolls who live under the bridge.
It was a bit chilly as you can see from this dairyman -- well covered up on his tractor.
This was the only troll we encountered this day. We nodded at each other but went down to the left at this point, north into some farm land.
Jessica looking through the fence at the cows. She started through at once point but came back when I called her. My past Ridgebacks (not Ben) ignored me for a few moments in order to get closer to the cows.
And egret (I think) getting a shower from the sprinklers.
Very pretty eyes here.
Sometimes it is hard to tell whether she is fat or not. Here is an action shot showing her muscles flexed -- if you can imagine flexed muscles under all that hair.
I don't know what is being grown here. Jessica was more interested in it than Ben or Duffy.
Jessica and Ben engaging in a little horse play (why do they call it "horse play" anyway?).
Horse play over. We are heading south, back toward the south levee.
climbing up onto the levee.
Ben went back down at this point. Jessica is helping him.
One last look under the bridge before we bid it a not so fond adieu.
Hike on 12-18-16. It rained almost an inch a couple of days ago so there was a lot of mud to go near or in the dogs' case through.
