Hike on 12-08-15 during hot part of the day in order to test a new lens, the Pentax 60-250. I picked a part of the river I don't normally go to in order to get some occasional shade. But there are people who live down there as you will see.
Hotter than usual for the dogs as well.
Duffy went up on the levee by a power control box of some sort.
Ben had to go up on the levee as well.
This was a test shot at 250mm. It isn't crystal clear, but it might have been had I used a tripod.
I took a photo of someone living down there and then noticed he was photographing me at the same time.
Someone else's tent. This guy may not have been at home.
Or, he could have been prowling about the brush to make sure I wasn't going to steal any of his stuff.
I was up on the levee for this shot. At 140 mm it seems to have as much clarity as when I was closer.
Shot at 250mm hand held of an old guy jogging.
Hike 12-9-15 with K3 and Pentax 60-250 lens.
This is the San Jacinto Scientology facility.
The Scientology guards weren't happy in the past when I walked too close to their fence taking photos. But here is the 60-250 at 250mm from across the river.
I probably shouldn't have taken these shots at F 4 but they do provide a different perspective.
A test of my ability to hold the camera steady at 250mm -- braced on top of my hiking stick. -- not crystal clear but better.
Hike on 12-11-2015. Rain threatened so I took the K5 with the waterproofed 16-85mm lens. It didn't rain until we were back in the Jeep headed home.
